Summer 2022

Ballet Summer Camp

5hrs in-person class

Prerequisites: Dancers must be 3+ years of age and potty trained

Daily: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 2:00pm

Duration: 1 Week Camp

Dates: June 6 - June 10, 2022

Instructor: Heidi Hernández

Cost: $250

This open level camp is open to any dancers ages 3 and up. It's meant to encourage leadership, team building skills and the collaborative process among our dancers. It's also a wonderful opportunity for our younger dancers to see how dance evolves from one level to the next, sparking curiosity and eagerness to learn more about ballet. Not only do we work on technique, we take time to learn about ballet/tap history and the global context it exists within today. We learn by watching, doing and also crafting.

Dancers will begin the day with a warm up followed by ballet technique, movement and musicality activities. Dancers must bring a packed lunch, after lunch we will focus on learning about ballet history by watching clips from both classical and contemporary ballets plus the dancers famous for portraying those roles. We'll then work on a craft relating to the era of ballet that we studied that day. To finish our day we will learn a short choreography inspired by the ballet style we studied that day using our different dance levels to our advantage.
